DOLLYWOOD PARKS & RESORTS
Dollywood parks first opened their doors in 1961 and are still doing better than ever. Dollywood is owned and operated by famous country singer and songwriter Dolly Parton. There is an average of three million park attendees annually, making it the biggest ticketed tourist attraction in Tennessee. The main park is separated into eleven unique sections each with its own theme. The areas include Wildwood Grove, Craftsmen’s Valley, Rivertown Junction, The Village, The Country Fair, Timber Canyon, Jukebox Junction, Owen’s Farm, Adventures in Imagination, Wilderness Pass, and Showstreet. These subsections in the park are heavily inspired by the history and culture of the Southern Appalachian Mountains.
There are a total of fifty rides and attractions in all of the sections of the park fun for the whole family. If you get hungry Dollywood offers 31 dining venues that include multiple vegetarian options. If you can’t decide what venue to eat at, Dollywood offers seasonal tasting passes for only $35. As the seasons change, so do the park’s events and themes. For example, in the summer season, the water park opens for business. During the current Fall season, the park opens its Harvest Festival. The festival includes talented artists’ music performances, pumpkin- flavored delights, and of course, rides and attractions.
