META announced Meta Verified, a new paid verification subscription service
META is following Twitter´s steps by introducing a new paid verification subscription service called Meta Verified.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Meta Verified, a monthly paid verification subscription. This service allows users of both Instagram and Facebook to pay to verify their accounts, and also gives the users other benefits such as extra protection from impersonation accounts and direct access to customer support. Meta Verified will have the price of 11,99 $ on the web and 14,99$ on iOS. The company announced that this service will have a progressive launch and the first countries in which this service will be introduced are Australia and New Zealand.
Even though Meta has historically granted verification to notable users, this service is primarily aimed at content creators and influencers, and businesses are not yet eligible to apply for Meta Verified
META will prevent fake accounts by having a series of requirements for those who want the blue badge. In order to be eligible for this service users must be at least 18 years old, meet minimum account activity requirements and provide a government ID that matches their profile name and picture.
