Instagram Account Verification

Recently, Instagram has expanded the ways in which businesses and creators can grow their platforms. Instagram has allowed eligible users to verify their accounts. With over a billion active users, Instagram has become a hotspot for networking, advertising, and establishing personal and professional connections. As a testament to authenticity and credibility, the blue tick, or verification badge, has become a symbol of status on the platform.

The Instagram Blue Checkmark appears next to the account name on their profile, in searches, and next to their username in comments. This Blue Checkmark serves as an assurance to the platform’s users that the account they are viewing is authentic and represents a legitimate entity, whether it is a notable figure, a brand, or a business. Getting verified on Instagram can make it more attractive to potential followers, customers, and partners, as they are ensuring an authentic and trustworthy connection. This badge makes sure to protect your brand identity and protect it from imposters.

So, who is eligible for a Blue Check Verification on Instagram? Instagram provides two ways to get the verified badge: Applying and Subscribing to Meta Verified or Applying for verification itself.

Meta Verified includes account verification, impersonation protection, more stickers and reach, and access to human support agents, all with the cost of $14.99 a month. To meet Meta Verified requirements, you must be 18 years old, have a public or private account with a profile picture (including your face) and your full name. Your full name and profile picture must match a government-issued ID. Additionally, you must have prior posting history and have two-factor authentication enabled. Meta Verification is not currently available for businesses. Submitting a request for Meta Verification doesn’t guarantee that your account will be verified, even if it meets all the eligibility requirements. Also, verifying your Instagram account will not verify your Facebook account.

The other method of getting the blue check mark is to apply for the verification badge. To do this, you must be a public figure, celebrity, or brand. Users must follow Instagram’s Terms of Use and Community Guidelines. The account must be unique , public, notable, active, and fully complete with a bio and profile picture. Note that once you have become verified you may not change your username, so make sure you like your username when you apply.

Once applying for a verification badge, Instagram will review the request. You will receive a notification in Activity up to 30 days after applying that will inform you on whether or not your account has been verified. Be careful not to apply for a verification badge multiple times, or else it will cancel your application. You may submit a new request again in 30 days if your application is denied. Failure to follow Terms of Use and Community Guidelines , attempting to transfer/sell your verified badge , or even switching your account from public to private too often, may result in a disabled account or a removal of your badge.

Instagram verification is certainly worth pursuing if you want to establish credibility and authenticity on the platform.Verification is not just about the badge; it’s a reflection of the trust and value you bring to your followers and the wider Instagram community.
